What is the difference between Web Services and e-services? |

Web Services refer to applications that provide data or services using XML and SOAP (specific technologies). It is normally used for machine-to-machine communications with no user interface. An e-Service on the other hand is an online-transaction that involves end-user interaction. It is a service that you can undertake or, in the case of it being a transaction type service, complete on-line. A Web Service will typically be used by an e-service. For example, an “online bookstore” e-service can make use of a “Search books” Web Service from Amazon.com to search for a list of books that the user wants purchase.

How do I get started to use GWS-X?
GWS-X is operated by the SHINE Supplier, NCS Pte Ltd. To get started, your organisation will first need to register with the SHINE Supplier through the government agency of the Web Services which you would like to consume. |

What are the charges for using GWS-X? |

From now till Mar 2007, there are no charges for using GWS-X. From Apr 2007, the Service Consumers will be charged at a per transaction fee. More details will be released at a later date. |
